Sherman Theater reels in Hot Tuna

The Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg has reeled in guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady, collectively known as Hot Tuna, for a Nov. 29 performance, according to the venue's website.

Tickets cost $40, $35 and $25. VIP ticket packages are also available. Doors open 6 p.m. Show time is 7 p.m.

Kaukonen and Casady, whose friendship dates back to childhood, are founding members of influential psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane. Casady produced Kaukonen's debut solo album, "Quah," released in 1972. Hot Tuna released their first studio album, "Burgers," that same year.

The band continues to perform as an electric quartet, as an acoustic duo consisting of Kaukonen and Casady, and as a three-piece with multi-instrumentalist Barry Mitterhoff. Hot Tuna previously headlined the Sherman Theater in June 2014. In December 2013, Hot Tuna performed at Bethlehem's Musikfest Cafe.

Did you know? Casady recorded the bass line heard on the Jimi Hendrix guitar classic "Voodoo Chile."
