Singer Darlene Love, drummer Sheila E., the Broadway hits STOMP and Bullets Over Broadway, Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox and Gone, Baby, Gone author Dennis Lehane are among the highlights of the Zoellner Arts Center's 2015-16 season, announced Tuesday in a news release.
The performances are in addition to the previously announced Oct. 17 Patti LaBelle "Gala2015" concert. Tickets for LaBelle cost $75-$150 for just the performance, $55 for full-time students. (Price includes post-performance dessert reception.) "Gala Evening" tickets cost $550. (Price includes cocktail reception, dinner, preferred concert seating and post-performance dessert reception. Sheila E. is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sept. 12. Tickets cost $58 (pit), $48 and $38. The percussionist is best known for her collaborations with Prince, Ringo Starr, Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Kanye West and Beyonce, among others.
Singer Morgan James -- whose sultry, powerhouse voice can slink between jazz, classical and soul -- will perform 7 and 9 p.m. Sept. 18. Tickets cost $62 for the 6 p.m. dinner and show package, $25 for show-only tickets.
Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox is slated for Nov. 12. Tickets cost $35 for cabaret-style seating, $28 for general admission. The group has won over fans with their jazz, Doo Wop, ragtime and soul interpretations of modern pop songs. Led by pianist Bradlee, Postmodern Jukebox has covered Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Lorde, John Legend and Meghan Trainor, among others.
Love, who performed at Zoellner in December 2014, is set to return 8 p.m. Nov. 21. Tickets cost $58 (pit), $48 and $38. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" singer appeared in the 2013 documentary "20 Feet from Stardom," which won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature.
STOMP will stop 7:30 p.m. March 10. Tickets cost $55 and $45.
Lehane will speak 7:30 p.m. April 5. Tickets cost $10. Admission is free for Lehigh University students. Lehane is also the author of the novels Mystic River and Shutter Island, both of which, as well as Gone, Baby, Gone, have been adapted into feature films.
Bullets Over Broadway will be performed 7 p.m. May 8. Tickets cost $60 and $50. The musical is based on Woody Allen's 1994 Oscar-winning American crime comedy of the same name. The latter starred John Cusack, Dianne Wiest, Jennifer Tilly and Chazz Palminteri.
Other seasonal highlights include Hell's Kitchen Funk Orchestra (Sept. 19), author Trudy Lewis (Oct. 29), Academy of Vocal Arts presents Don Giovanni (Nov. 14), M-PACT (Jan. 23) and jazz pianist Billy Childs (Feb. 6).
Tickets for all shows go on sale Thursday, July 23.
