UPDATE: Organizers have confirmed Meghan Trainor's Sept. 6 cancellation at the Great Allentown Fair in a statement, according to Discover Lehigh Valley. Refunds will be given starting Wednesday, Aug. 12. Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster and over the phone will receive direct refunds from Ticketmaster; tickets purchased at the Fair Box Office, 302 N. 17th St., Allentown, are required to visit the box office to receive refunds.
Pop singer Meghan Trainor, best known for her hits "All About That Bass" and "Dear Future Husband," may not be heading to Allentown after all.
Trainor announced Tuesday, Aug. 11, in an Instagram post that she is canceling the remainder of her M-Train Tour. The singer was set to headline the Great Allentown Fair on Sept. 6. The tour was scheduled to wrap Sept. 13 at the Borgata in Atlantic City.
In the post, Trainor attributes the cancellation to having to undergo surgery to fix a hemorrhage on her vocal chord. She previously postponed tour dates in July due to the same same similar injury, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Allentown Fair organizers have yet to confirm the cancellation or announce a replacement act for Trainor and refund information. However, Trainor's name and performance date have been removed from the fair's website.
The rest of the Allentown Fair main stage lineup is rounded out by Def Leppard with Styx and Tesla (Sept. 1), Little Big Town (Sept. 2), Carrie Underwood (Sept. 3), Eric Church (Sept. 4) and Deadmau5 (Sept. 5).
