ArtsQuest postpones SteelStacks Improv Comedy Festival

The looming snowstorm set to batter the east coast has cause the postponement of two ArtsQuest events and canceled another.

Officials announced Thursday that the SteelStacks Improv Comedy Festival, originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 23, at the ArtsQuest Center has been rescheduled for Feb. 26-27. However, as a result of the rescheduling, the Improvised Shakespeare Company will not be part of the lineup.

Refunds will be provided to those who purchased tickets for the Improvised Shakespeare Company workshops. An updated festival performance lineup and schedule will be announced in the near future, the release states.

ArtsQuest also announced that the annual Souper Bowl culinary event and fundraiser, originally set for Saturday, has been canceled.

The encore screening of the 1986 David Bowie film Labyrinth planned for Saturday has been rescheduled for 9:30 p.m. Jan. 30.

Additionally, the Bethlehem Visitor's Center and Banana Factory Arts Center will be closed Saturday.

All Friday programming at the SteelStacks complex, including the Sounds of Simon and Garfunkel concert at Musikfest Cafe, will go on as planned, according to the release.

UPDATE: The "Snow Blowers Improv Show" has been announced for 8 p.m. Friday at SteelStacks. The show will feature performances by Lehigh Valley improvisational comedy troupes ManDudeBro and The Associated Mess, along with special guests. Tickets cost $10, $9 for students and $8 for ArtsQuest members.
