Organizers of the 2016 Lehigh Valley Music Awards announced Tuesday its list of special recipient honorees.
Folk musician and Godfrey Daniels co-founder Dave Fry, of Bethlehem, and late polka legend "Jolly" Joe Timmer will each receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, according to a news release.
Timmer, a lifelong Bethlehem resident and member of the International Polka Association's Polka Hall of Fame, died in July 2015 at age 85.
The intimate, 100-seat coffeehouse and performance space was co-founded by Fry in 1976. The venue has since become a staple of folk music in the Lehigh Valley.

"The Twist" singer Chubby Checker received a special recognition award during the 2015 Lehigh Valley Music Awards, for his contributions to the music industry and influence on Lehigh Valley musicians.
The 2016 ceremony is scheduled for March 6 at Musikfest Cafe in Bethlehem.
