Members of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra will have to trade in their dress shoes for a pair of ice skates when the award-winning ensemble performs in December at the PPL Center in Allentown.
The inaugural "Symphony on Ice" show is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 1, officials announced Tuesday in a news release.
Tickets start at $28 and go on sale 10 Friday, Oct. 28, through PPLCenter.com or by phone at 610-347-TIXX. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the box office, 701 Hamilton St.
The orchestra will be joined that evening by champion figure skater Adam Rippon, as well as members of the Penguin Skating Club and students from William Allen High School Chorale, Easton Area High School Choir and Parkland High School Women's Select Choir. Rippon, a native of Scranton, is the 2016 United States national champion and 2010 Four Continents champion, according to the release.
The Penguin Figure Skating Club was established in 1941 and is the second oldest figure skating club in Pennsylvania.
