SteelStacks anniversary celebration starts this weekend with special film screenings

ArtsQuest this weekend will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the opening of the SteelStacks complex in SouthSide Bethlehem with a special film series.

Starting Friday, and running through Sunday, all screenings in the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas will cost $5. However, the "Soundtrack Comes Alive" concert with This Way to the Egress is not included in the special pricing. Tickets for "Soundtrack Comes Alive" cost.

Films being shown this weekend include the Helen Mirren-Alan Rickman political thriller Eye in the Sky, the Sally Field film Hello, My Name is Doris and director David O. Russell's Oscar-winning 2012 comedic drama Silver Linings Playbook, which stars Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro.

The anniversary celebration continue throughout the month, with $5 screenings of the following films:

  • 7:15 p.m. April 18: Vertigo
  • 7:30 p.m. April 21: A Hard Day's Night
  • 9:30 p.m. April 23: The Princess Bride
  • 7 p.m. April 24: The Artist
  • 7:30 p.m. April 27: Moonrise Kingdom
  • 7:30 p.m. April 28: LCD Soundsystem: Shut Up and Play the Hits

The SteelStacks complex opened to the public April 15, 2011.
