Just in time for Free Comic Book Day, ArtsQuest will host its inaugural "Comic Book Week" event May 3-7 at the SteelStacks complex in Bethlehem.
The fun kicks off 7:15 May 3 with a screening of the 2013 documentary Legends of the Knight at Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas (inside the ArtsQuest Center.) Legends of the Knight examines the power of Batman and how the character has inspired ordinary people overcome extraordinary odds.
On May 5, ArtsQuest will screen the 2004 film Hellboy. Hellboy is based on the Dark Horse Comics series of the same name and stars Ron Perlman as the titular crimson hero. Start time is 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for the screenings each cost $7.50-$10. Proceeds from the Legends of the Knight screening, which starts at 7:15 p.m., will be donated to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley.
The festivities wrap up 8 p.m. May 7 with Dan Maher's "Fwend Fight: Improv Comedy About Comic Books" in the Fowler Blast Furnace Room (inside the ArtsQuest Center). Tickets for "Fwend Fight" cost $6-$8.
