Musikfest attendees will have something to laugh about Thursday evening.
The inaugural Lehigh Valley with Love Comedy Fest will spotlight comedians from around the greater Lehigh Valley and beyond. The event, which is free, will be held at the Charles A. Brown Ice House in Bethlehem and hosted by comedian and Nazareth native Tyler Rothrock.
"I thought it would be something cool and I talked to (LehighValleyWithLove.com founder) George (Wacker) about it and he was into it and started to get the ball rolling," Rothrock said Tuesday during a phone interview.
"If I had just been starting out and there was a festival where I you could potentially perform in front of hundreds people, it definitely would be something I would want to do."
In a news release, Wacker added, "We're very excited to be bringing some laughs to the Valley this year. "Giving the Lehigh Valley something a bit different and unique that week is going to be special. And hilarious!"
The evening will be split into two separate showcases: one at 7 p.m. and another at 9 p.m. Attendees will be treated to sets by comedians from the greater Lehigh Valley and those traveling from as far away as Los Angeles and Austin, Texas.
Comedians scheduled to perform are: Sam Evans, Lemaire Lee, Kris Fried, Dan Perlman, Justin Hancock, Alex Grubbard, Julia Johns (MTV's Girl Code), Paul Spratt, Chris Gorbos, Cee Jay Got Cracks, Doug McHizzle, Erica Spera, Adel Alizadah, Nate Marshall, Abby Rosenquist, Buddy Harris and Glen Tickle.
Rothrock said the evening will feature a broad and diverse range of comedic styles. "There is something for every type of comedy fan," Rothrock said.
The event is presented in conjunction with the Never Again Radio podcast.
