Guitar virtuoso Carlos Santana will kick off Musikfest 2017, officials announced Friday.
The 69-year-old Santana is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Aug. 4.
Tickets cost $59.50-$109.50 and go on sale 10 a.m. Jan. 17 to ArtsQuest members, 10 a.m. Jan. 20 to the public. Tickets can be purchased online at musikfest.org or by calling 610-332-3378.
Carlos Santana rose to fame as a founding member of Latin rock band Santana, whose hits include "Black Magic Woman" "Evil Way," and "Oye Como Va." The group's 1999 release Supernatural -- anchored by the single "Smooth," which features guest vocals by Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas -- went 15-times platinum in the United States.
Last year, Carlos Santana reunited with Santana members Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie and Michael Carabello for a tour. They performed at Allentown's PPL Center in April 2016.
In 1998, Santana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He received a Kennedy Center Honors Award in 2013.
Musikfest will be held Aug. 4-13 in Bethlehem.
