Phillipsburg High School powering up for third annual Phillipsburg Comic-Con

Veteran comic book inker Scott Hanna, fashion designer Pamela Ptak and artist Will Rosado are among the guests lined up for the third annual Phillipsburg Comic-Con.

The convention is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 13 at Phillipsburg High School.

Hanna's lengthy resume includes work on such DC and Marvel titles as "Superman: Lois and Clark," "Detective Comics," "Catwoman," "Amazing Spider-Man," "Avengers vs. X-Men" and "Batman & Robin Eternal." Ptak appeared as a contestant on the seventh season of reality television series Project Runway.

The couple run the Arts & Fashion Institute in Riegelsville. Hanna and Ptak earlier this week announced the launch of their creator-owned comic book series "Zero Can't Die."

Rosado's credits include "The New Titans," "G.I. Joe," "Green Arrow," "Robin" and "Nightwing."

The guest list is rounded out by Chris Giarrusso, Nik Virella, Darren Auck and Jeff Shultz.

Admission costs $5. Children ages 10 and under will get in for free, if accompanied by a paid adult. A portion of the proceeds from the convention will benefit the organization RAINN, which provides help to victims of rape and sexual abuse. (Last year's event also benefitted RAINN.)

Attendees will receive a Comic Con-exclusive print penciled by DC Comics artist Ralph "Rags" Morales (while supplies last). Other giveaways include comic books, DVDs, CDs and posters, according to the show's website.
