Allentown Fair adds headliners Rascal Flatts, Pentatonix to lineup

Country music trio Rascal Flatts and Grammy Award-winning a cappella group Pentatonix will take over the stage of the Allentown Fairgrounds this summer.

The two acts are the latest headliners announced for the 2017 Great Allentown Fair. Both shows were announced Wednesday.

Rascal Flatts will perform Sept. 1. Tickets cost $45-$85.

Sixteen of the Rascal Flatts' singles have reached No. 1 on Billboard's country charts, their most recent being "I Like the Sound of That." Rascal Flatts' other hits include "What Hurts the Most" and their cover of Marcus Hummon's "Bless the Broken Road." The band will release their 10th studio album, Back to Us, on May 19.

The platinum-selling band was scheduled to headline Allentown's PPL Center in September 2014, but eventually canceled, though reason was given for the cancellation.

Pentatonix is scheduled for Sept. 2. Tickets cost $35-$75.

The group has sold more than six million albums in the United States and won three Grammy Awards since their formation in 2011, according to a news release. Their platinum-selling 2016 holiday album, A Pentatonix Christmas, spent two consecutive weeks atop Billboard's Top 200 chart.

This will be the first time an a capella group has headlined the fair, according to the release.

Tickets for Rascal Flatts and Pentatonix go on sale 10 a.m. March 24 online through ticketmaster.com and by calling 800-745-3000.
