Easton's new music venue has pushed back its start date by one week.
One Centre Square will now open May 23 with hard rock band Trapt and Smile Empty Soul. The venue was originally scheduled to open May 16 with a performance by hip-hop group Twizted, but has delayed its start date due to "unforeseen circumstances," according to a April 28 article published by LehighValleyLive.com.
Additionally, the May 19 concert featuring 1980s-themed tribute band Rubix Kube has been rescheduled for June 2, while the May 20 C+C Music Factory show has been canceled. No makeup date has been announced for the latter.
Owner William Cornish has since confirmed the postponement and cancellations via Facebook. Cornish said refunds for the two cancelled shows can be made at the point of purchase. Tickets purchased for Rubix Kube will be honored on the rescheduled date.
One Centre Square is located in the same space as the former Drinky's Nightclub. The nightclub shuttered Dec. 31, 2016, with its owners revealing the venue would be transformed into a 1,000-seat music venue.
Since January, a flurry of concerts have been announced for One Centre Square, including rapper Afroman, boy band O-Town, heavy-metal band Mushroomhead and alternative rockers Electric Six.
