Bassist Shawn Cav and his ensemble push the boundaries of fusion and experimental jazz on their recently released full-length album Polygons.
Polygons, the follow-up to Cav's debut EP Glass Houses, is a carefully constructed and complex arrangement of musical shapes and colors.
In addition to his solo work, Cav is a member of Easton-based Acoustic Bite Trio. He recorded bass on singer-songwriter Leah Marie Fuls' debut EP You're Never Gone.
I recently caught up with Cav at the Easton School of Rock to discuss his approach to creating Polygons and the inspirations behind the music.
Shawn Cav Ensemble's 'Polygons' is available on iTunes and Bandcamp.
