Power pop band Summer Scouts will open for country music group The Band Perry when the latter headlines Musikfest's Sands Steel Stage on Aug. 11.
The Allentown-based quintet made the announcement Tuesday.
The performance will be the sixth such time Musikfest organizers have tapped a Lehigh Valley act to open for one of its national headliners. This year's main stage lineup will also feature a supporting set by Lehighton-based hard rock outfit Another Day Dawns, who will kick off Godmack's Aug. 9 concert.
Gates for The Band Perry and Summer Scouts open 6 p.m. Show time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $39-$59.
Additionally, fans will be able to catch Summer Scouts Aug. 6 on the Plaza Tropical stage. Start time for that performance is 6 p.m.
Summer Scouts released their full-length debut album, Furthest Reach, in May 2016. In March, the band dropped a music video for their single "Give It Our All."
Since their formation in late 2014, Summer Scouts have also released the EPs The Distance and Deep Breath. Late last year, national clothing chain Journeys added the band's video for their single "Vessel" to the retailer's in-store video rotation.
The Band Perry's 2010 self-titled debut album spawned the singles "Hip to My Heart," "If I Die Young," "You Lie" and "All Your Life." Their other hits include "Better Dig Two," "Done," "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" and "Chainsaw."
In 2015, The Band Perry earned their first Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
Musikfest will take place Aug. 4-13 in Bethlehem.
