For those who rather skip the saccharine sentimentality on Valentine's Day and vent their frustration through the conduit of live music, Slingshot Dakota is here to help.
The punk rock duo of singer-keyboardist Carly Commando and drummer Tom will headline the Feb. 14 "Anti-Valentine's Day" bash at the Easton Public Market. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Slingshot Dakota's performance is set for 7 p.m., adjacent to eatery Scratch.
No strangers to Easton, the music video for Slingshot Dakota's 2016 single "Paycheck" was filmed in the city's West Ward district.
Slingshot Dakota was recently announced as one of the acts scheduled to perform during the 2018 Lehigh Valley Music Awards ceremony at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.
The band released their debut album, Break, via Topshelf Records. That same month, Rolling Stone named Slingshot Dakota one of its "10 New Artists You Need to Know."
Slingshot Dakota released the EP Broken in early 2017, which featured two previously unreleased songs: "Grudge" and "Dying Stars."
