LehighValleywithLove ComedyPlatz returns tonight to Musikfest for back-to-back evenings of free stand-up comedy in Bethlehem.
The second annual showcase will be held starting 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday at the Charles A. Brown Ice House, 56 River St.
This year's lineup features an eclectic mix of Lehigh Valley and regional performers, including comedian Django Gold (writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), Molly Mulshine, Bryan Yang, Rhonda Hansome (Saturday Night Live, Arsenio Hall), Chanel Ali, Glen Tickle, Jason J. Brown, and ComedyPlatz co-founder Tyler Rothrock.
"I'm excited this year," Rothrock said Friday. "We seem to keep growing and the talent is super good. Thank you to the ArtsQuest staff!"
ComedyPlatz is a partnership between Rothrock, Lehigh Valley with Love founder George Wacker, and ArtsQuest, according to a news release. Rothrock, a native of Nazareth, is a co-host of the Never Again Radio podcast.
In the release, Ryan Hill, ArtsQuest Director of Cinema and Comedy Programming, echoed Rothrock's excitement. "Musikfest continues to evolve the ways in which it entertains the nearly one million people that come through the festival every year," he said. "With ComedyPlatz now firmly added to the comedy that’s been happening at the ArtsQuest Center for the past seven years, and Jim Gaffigan headlining the Sands Steel Stage, it’s apparent that comedy is becoming a cornerstone of the ‘fest experience.”

Rothrock released his debut stand-up comedy album, Tyler of Nazareth, PA, in 2017 through Tickle's Circus Trapeze Records label. In January, Brown also released his debut stand-up album, Jokes Through the Bathroom Door, via Circus Trapeze Records.
