Check out new tunes from area rock bands The Crowning, Them Spicy Boize

Pour yourself a glass of milk. The spice is strong this week.

What starts out as a straightforward, upbeat rock jam takes a pleasantly surprising turn on “Stuck on You” — the debut single from Shane Reimer and Them Spicy Boize’s forthcoming EP.

The Bethlehem-based trio does not hold back on “Stuck on You” as they pummel the senses with a deft power trio assault. Midway through the tune, however, the tempo changes and the song morphs into a reggae-ska jam, highlighted by a blistering solo from guitarist-vocalist Reimer.

Do not be surprised if “Stuck on You” lodges itself and gets stuck in your brain. Don’t fight it. Embrace it.

Speaking of new releases, Stroudsburg’s The Crowning recently dropped their hard-charging single, “All I Want.”

“All I Want” finds The Crowning tapping into their more melodic side while still flexing enough muscle to stay true to their heavier, hard rock roots. Vocalist-guitarist Micah Martin stands out here, bellowing a ridiculously catchy chorus atop layers of powerful guitar crunch.

The song encapsulates the band’s ability to skillfully fuse together bone-crunching guitar riffs with a pop-rock exoskeleton. In other words, a must for any rock playlist.
