Comedian Tyler Rothrock says attendees of tonight’s “Brew Haha!” fundraiser are in for a good time while supporting a good cause.
Presented by Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living, the event will be held 7-9 p.m. at Weyerbacher Brewing Company in Easton. Proceeds from the show will benefit programs and services for Lehigh Valley residents with disabilities, according to the event page. Doors open at 6 p.m.
“It’s super flattering when people want you involved with their (event),” Rothrock says. “It’s going to be a night of fun.”
In addition to Rothrock, “Brew Haha!” will feature performances by comedians Richie Warmkessel, Kris Fried, Steph McGregor, Aliya Brown, Kelcie Kosberg, and improv group Big Check.
“Since I moved back from New York, I’ve been trying to have more fun with everything,” Rothrock says.
A native of Nazareth, Rothrock — who resides in Bethlehem — released his debut stand-up comedy album, Tyler of Nazareth PA , in 2017. (The album debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Top Stand Up Comedy Chart.) Rothrock co-hosts the the popular “Lehigh Valley with Love” podcast with LehighValleywithLove.com founder George Wacker. The duo will soon bring their podcast to local television audiences with their Lehigh Valley with Love television show for Service Electric.
“(The podcast) helps me keep that (comedy) tool sharp; it’s given me a whole brand new respect and admiration for people who do radio,” Rothrock says. “Ever since we started doing the podcast and the (Musikfest) ComedyPlatz (stage), I’ve had a vested interest in helping make comedy better here.”
Tickets for “Brew Haha!” cost $20 at the door.
