Journey, Santana to headline PPL Center

Classic rock heavyweights Journey and Santana on April 16 will co-headline the PPL Center in Allentown, officials announced Monday.

Show time is 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale noon Friday, Feb. 5, through PPLCenter.com and at the box office, 701 Hamilton St. Ticket prices were not immediately available.

Santana -- led by guitar virtuoso Carlos Santana -- has sold more than 100 million records, according to the release. Their hits include "Evil Ways," "Black Magic Woman" and "Oye Como Va." Santana's upcoming studio album Santana IV, set for a April 15 release, will feature a reunion of the band's famous early '70s lineup: Carlos Santana, keyboardist-vocalist Gregg Rolie, guitarist-vocalist Neal Schon, percussionist Michael Carabello and drummer Michael Shrieve. (Schon is also a founding member of Journey.)

Journey's popular compilation album, Greatest Hits, has achieved diamond status by having gone 15-times platinum. Their bevy of hit singles include "Don't Stop Believin," "Lights," "Wheel in the Sky," "Any Way You Want It," "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" and "Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin." The band headlined the Great Allentown Fair in 2011.
