Grammy Award-winning guitarist Pat Metheny, singer-saxophonist Jessy J, singer-songwriter Delbert McClinton and Coopersburg-based guitarist Craig Thatcher have been announced as the first acts of the 2016 RiverJazz festival in Bethlehem.
Additional shows are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, according to a news release.
Show dates and ticket prices are:
- April 22: Pat Metheny; $39-$54
- April 30: Craig Thatcher Band; $20-$25
- May 12: Jesse J; $20-$30
- May 18: Delbert McClinton; $45-$52
Performance time for each of the four announced shows is 7:30 p.m. The concerts will be take place at Musikfest Cafe, inside the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.
Metheny will be joined by bassist Ron Carter. The former has sold more than 20 million albums and has racked up 20 Grammys, according to the release.
Jessy J's 2011 studio effort, Hot Sauce, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard jazz chart.
McClinton, also a multiple Grammy winner, is best known for the 1980 single "Giving It Up for Your Love" and his 1992 duet with singer Tanya Tucker, "Tell Me About It."
Tickets for all four concerts go on sale 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, to ArtsQuest members; 10 a.m. Feb. 5 to the public through steelstacks.org and by calling 610-332-3378.
