Lehigh Valley fans of Def Leppard will have to wait a little longer than expected to see the band in concert.
Illness has caused the English rock group to postpone the remaining dates on its current outing with Styx, including their originally scheduled Feb. 17 concert at the PPL Center in Allentown, according to a news release. A makeup date has not been announced.
Tickets purchased for the Feb. 17 performance will be honored on the new date, according to the release.
Drummer Rick Allen on Sunday took to Twitter to address the news. He tweeted, "The Doctor basically said that if Joe continues to sing without resting his throat for a month he might do permanent damage," referring to Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott.
Def Leppard headlined the Great Allentown Fair in 1983, 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2015. In 1981, they performed at Lehigh University's Stabler Arena in Bethlehem.
Their hits include "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Photograph," "Animal," "Rock of Ages" and "Foolin."
