The Go-Go's formed in 1978 and released their triple-platinum-selling debut album, Beauty and the Beat, in 1981. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the album No. 414 on its 500 greatest albums of all-time list. They followed it up Vacation in 1982, which spawned the title track single.
The quartet -- singer Belinda Carlisle, guitarist Jan Wiedlin, guitarist Charlotte Caffey and drummer Gina Schock -- disbanded in 1985 and reunited in 1990. (Former bassist Kathy Valentine left the band in 2012.) Carlisle is in the midst of a solo tour, which will stop April 16 at Mount Airy Casino Resort in Mount Pocono, Pa.
