Comedians Ryan Hill and Steve Bost are sure to have the eye of the tiger when they step inside the ring Thursday night to lay a comedic smackdown on the critically-maligned Rocky V.
"Ryan and Steve Bust a Movie" is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas in Bethlehem. Tickets cost $10, $8 for students and seniors and $7.50 for ArtsQuest members.
The plot of the film finds a bankrupt and brain-damaged Rocky Balboa coming out of retirement, again, to mentor a brash up-and-comer named Tommy Gunn. The two boxers eventually come to blows in a street fight after Balboa is betrayed by his protege.
Rocky V was the knockout punch that laid Sylvester Stallone's beloved Rocky franchise on the mat and nearly flat-lined the series for good. The film racked up seven Golden Raspberry Awards -- including Worst Picture, Worst Actor and Worst Screenplay.
Fortunately, the Rocky brand was revived with greater success in 2006 and again in 2015 with sequels Rocky Balboa and Creed, respectively.
Hill and Bost's "Bust a Movie" series has previously taken shots at such cinematic gems as Twilight, Road House, Cool as Ice, Glitter and Battlefield: Earth.
