Downtown Easton will be rocking this weekend with three days of live music and a heaping helping of history.
The action kicks off Friday at Centre Square with the inaugural "Catch the Bugler" race. The four-mile trek will conclude with a vinyl dance party featuring Easton's own DJ Brad F Scott.
On Saturday, starting 10 a.m., Squaritage Day returns to the North Bank Street alley and Just Around the Corner art gallery and gift shop. More than 60 hand-painted and hand-crafted tiles will be up for auction. The event will include a performance by up-and-coming singer-songwriter/School of Rock student Julia Gross.
The weekend will culminate Sunday with the 40th annual Easton Heritage Day celebration. There will be food trucks, period crafters, children's activities, a reading of the Declaration of Independence (at noon) and four stages of live music. (On July 8, 1776, Easton was one of three locations where the Declaration of Independence had its first public reading.)
