Lehigh Valley music fans will soon be able to share the main stage of the historic State Theatre in Easton with national touring acts.
The new live music series, "Stage on Stage," will kick off Jan. 27 with "A Night of Southern Rock" featuring The Trongone Band and Easton-based Americana-rock outfit Acoustic Kitty Project.
The stage will be transformed into a "club" atmosphere, while the production area off to the right wing of the stage will be used for a cash bar.
Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets cost $12.50 in advance, $15 at the door.
Hypnotizing audiences with an engaging blend of Americana, funk and rock 'n' roll boogie, Richmond, Virginia's The Trongone Band is touring the east coast in support of their debut album, Keys to the House.
Acoustic Kitty Project released their sophomore album, Saturday Night, in August. Fronted by vocalist-guitarist Carter Lansing, the band has become a fixture of the Lehigh Valley music scene, including rousing performances at Musikfest, Bacon Fest and Easton Heritage Day. Earlier this year, the group was nominated for several Lehigh Valley Music Awards.
"Stage on Stage" is sponsored by DustinSchoof.com and radio station WXPN.
