Writer Amy Chu has been added to the guest list for the third annual Phillipsburg Comic Con, which will be held May 13 at Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg.
Chu penned the critically-acclaimed DC Comics miniseries "Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death." She is currently writing "Red Sonja" and "KISS" for Dynamite Entertainment. The latter is inspired by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band's 1981 concept album, Music from "The Elder."
Her other credits include "Sensation Comics featuring Wonder Woman" and "X-Files Deviations."
Chu joins a lineup that also features writer-artist Walt Simonson ("Thor"), writer Louise Simonson ("X-Factor"), writer-artist Joe Kelly ("Action Comics"), artist Lee Weeks ("Daredevil"), artist Ralph "Rags" Morales ("Identity Crisis") and inker Scott Hanna ("Amazing Spider-Man").
Admission to Phillipsburg Comic Con costs $5. Children ages 10 and under will get in for free, if accompanied by a paid adult. A portion of the proceeds from the convention will benefit the organization RAINN, which provides help to victims of rape and sexual abuse. (Last year's event also benefitted RAINN.)
Event hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
