Organizers of the Great Allentown Fair have found an amusing replacement for pop singer Meghan Trainor.
Comedian Jim Gaffigan will perform Sept. 6 place of Trainor, according to a news release. Trainor on Tuesday canceled the remainder of her summer M-Train Tour, which included the Allentown date.
Tickets, which cost $49 and $29, for Gaffigan go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.
Bonnie Brosious, marketing director and talent buyer for the Great Allentown Fair, says in the release she tried booking Gaffigan earlier in the year, but the comedian, at the time, was unavailable for the fair's open dates. "We are beyond appreciative and and excited that Jim was able to make himself available on such short notice," Brosious says in the release.
The 49-year-old Gaffigan stars in the TV Land series The Jim Gaffigan Show. In addition to several stand-up specials -- including Beyond the Pale and Mr. Universe -- and a Comedy Central Presents special, Gaffigan's credits include the 2001 film Super Troopers, Law & Order and the former TBS series My Boys. He is also the author of the books Dad is Fat and Food: A Love Story.
The Great Allentown Fair main stage lineup is rounded out by Def Leppard with Styx and Tesla (Sept. 1), Little Big Town (Sept. 2), Carrie Underwood (Sept. 3), Eric Church (Sept. 4) and Deadmau5 (Sept. 5).
