Elton John is following the yellow brick road to Allentown.
The legendary pop singer, pianist and composer and his band on Sept. 27 will headline the PPL Center, officials announced Thursday in a news release. Show time is 8 p.m.
Tickets go on sale noon April 8 through pplcenter.com and at the box office, 701 Hamilton St. Tickets cost $39-$154. (Additional fees may apply.)
The Allentown stop is part of the 69-year-old entertainer and composer's nine-city Wonderful Crazy Night Tour John will be embarking on later this year. It will mark John's first time performing in the city, according to the release.
"We are truly honored to host Sir Elton John, who is one of the most successful performers of all-time," said PPL Center General Manager Gunnar Fox in the release.
John has sold more than 300 million records and charted more than 50 Top 40 hits throughout his career. His robust resume includes the hits "Tiny Dancer," "Don't let the Sun Go Down on Me," "Bennie and the Jets," "Candle in the Wind," "Rocket Man," "Crocodile Rock," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" and "Rocket Man."
